Funding fuels the next generation of Green Energy training

Learners and industry are set to benefit from the latest advancements in alternative vehicle technologies at the new, state-of-the-art Net Zero Energy Training Centre at South Staffordshire College’s Rodbaston campus.

Thanks to funding through the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the council has supported the purchase of a hydrogen vehicle rig, to bolster the impressive facilities, supporting the current generation of learners and helping to inspire tomorrow’s workforce.

The new Net Zero Energy Training Centre will offer courses in renewal heating, electric vehicle charging, hydrogen vehicle awareness, heating and water systems, installation and maintenance of air source heat pumps, retrofit, solar PV and solar hot water systems.

Improving access: Footbridge & pathway works at Wom Brook Walk

South Staffordshire Council will have a contractor onsite at the Wom Brook Walk during the week beginning the 3^rd February. This is to install footings for a new pedestrian footbridge as per the plan below. 

The contractor will also be excavating for a new footpath on the walk heading up towards Gravel Hill.  We are currently arranging delivery of the new footbridge to site and will update residents in due course when this will be installed.

These works are being part funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and we hope that these will improve access across the site, and help with repairs to the path network that was damaged during the recent storm events.

The Bereavement Journey: A place to talk

The Bereavement Journey is being run across the UK in person and online.

It offers 15 films over 7 sessions, usually offered weekly, and sometimes with a light meal or refreshments.

Participants are placed in groups of 6-8 for discussion following the films and volunteers guide them in exploring their loss, aided by a manual.

Anyone 18 years+ for whom someone important has died at any time is welcome.
