The County Council elections are just around the corner, taking place on Thursday, 1st May 2025. Below, you’ll find all the key information you need to ensure your vote is counted and to learn more about the candidates standing in your area.
The deadline has now passed for registering to vote online, and for requesting a postal or proxy vote.
Return your postal vote
Please return your postal vote as soon as possible to ensure it is counted!
If you miss the post, you can hand in your postal vote and/or the postal vote of up to 5 others at the council office between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday to a person authorised to receive postal votes, or at any polling station in the relevant electoral area before 10PM on Thursday, 1st May, 2025. You will be provided with a form which you must complete for the postal vote(s) you are handing in to be accepted. |

Voting in person on election day
You can vote at your nearest polling station, which is listed on your polling card or can be found online at https://wheredoivote.co.uk.
Don’t forget to bring your Voter ID! Accepted forms of ID are listed below.
