Compton’s Cafe Quiz Night
| Join us for an evening of fun and fundraising at Comptons Café Quiz Night on Friday, 25th September, from 6pm to 9pm, hosted by Dicky Dodd. Tickets are £7 per person and are available from the Comptons Café counter at Codsall Community Hub. Teams can have up to 8 members. Food will be available on the night, along with a licensed bar.

FREE family-friendly outdoor activities at Strawberry Lane Cemetery
There’s just over a week to go until our FREE ‘Birds and Bulbs’ event with Forest of Mercia CIC at Strawberry Lane Cemetery!
Spend time outdoors with the family planting daffodil bulbs, making your own bird feeder, creating a pine cone bird and looking out for birds and wildlife around our peaceful cemetery grounds.
Strawberry Lane Cemetery, Great Wyrley, WS6 7AU – Saturday, 19th September, 10am – 12pm

We’ll also be celebrating achieving a prestigious Green Flag Award for the cemetery with a short flag-raising ceremony and you can take home FREE suet balls for your new bird feeder and some FREE daffodil bulbs too!
Important information for Codsall Leisure Centre customers
| Codsall Community High School will be hosting events on Thursday 24th September and Thursday 1st October, from 5.30pm to 8pm on both dates. As a large number of visitors are expected, the events will affect leisure centre services and parking.
On both dates, the leisure centre and car park will close at 5.30pm and reopen at 8pm. Activities, facilities and swimming lessons will operate as normal until 5.30pm, including the 5pm–5.30pm swimming lesson. Swimming lessons from 5.30pm onwards will be cancelled, and fees for affected lessons will be adjusted accordingly.

Refurbishment Progress
| Codsall Leisure Centre
Refurbishment works are continuing at Codsall Leisure Centre, where the poolside changing rooms and reception area are being completely refurbished. The works are due to be completed by the end of February next year. The swimming pool remains open throughout the works, although showers are currently unavailable.
A temporary reception is in place while the refurbishment is underway. Please note that the temporary reception is accepting card payments only and cannot accept cash.
Penkridge Leisure Centre
Refurbishment works are also taking place to the poolside changing rooms at Penkridge Leisure Centre. The pool remains open as normal, but changing rooms are unavailable. Customers are asked to arrive swim-ready and follow the robe and go guidance. |
October half-term aquatic courses
Pool Lifeguard Course
We are running National Pool Lifeguard courses during October half term, from 26th October to 31st October, at Cheslyn Hay, Wombourne and Penkridge Leisure Centres.
Candidates must be aged 16 or over and be competent swimmers. The course costs £290 and, by the end of the week, successful candidates will be qualified to lifeguard.

Aquatic Helper Course
The Aquatic Helper Course is suitable for anyone aged 14 or over and is a one-day course that provides knowledge on how to support children in the water as they learn to swim.
After completing the course, candidates can assist qualified swimming teachers under supervision. Aquatic helpers do not deliver lessons, but play an important role in supporting swimmers in the water. A course will take place at Codsall Leisure Centre on 28th October, from 10am to 4pm, at a cost of £65.
