Reminder: Take our short community safety survey and you could win a smart doorbell!
| Thank you to everyone who has already taken part in our Community Safety Survey. We really appreciate your feedback.
If you haven’t completed it yet, there’s still time to have your say. The more people who take part, the better we can understand community safety across South Staffordshire and ensure future priorities reflect the issues that matter most to residents.
We want to hear your views on:
• How safe you feel in your area
• Your perception of crime locally
• What would help you feel safer
• Your thoughts on our current priorities
• Any other issues you believe should be considered
The survey is being led by the South Staffordshire Community Safety Partnership, which brings together local organisations committed to keeping South Staffordshire a safe and welcoming place to live, work and visit. Find out more about the partnership at: https://www.sstaffs.gov.uk/communitysafety.
Take the survey and enter our prize draw today by clicking the button below. There’s no need to sign up or create an account.
We would be very grateful if you could share this with your networks and help us spread the opportunity to engage on an important matter across South Staffordshire. |

Mike Loader joined Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service two decades ago as a firefighter and has worked his way up to the position of Station Manager at Newcastle and Loggerheads.
Mike said: “Over the past 20 years, I have worked at many different stations across Staffordshire, from a firefighter to now as a Station Manager.
“Being a Station Manager means I am often the Incident Commander at large incidents, so I am essentially in charge of organising appliances, crews and ensuring the safety of everyone involved.”
“The responsibility of running a large incident like the one on Stafford Street is huge. It’s my job to ensure that everyone working there is safe, the public are protected and no local businesses are damaged.
“But when the fire is extinguished and nobody is hurt it’s a great feeling, it’s really rewarding.”
There are many different specialisms available across the service once new recruits are fully competent, such as rope and water rescue, investigations, hazardous materials and learning and development.
