Local Plan Review update
Following on from the Preferred Options consultation which closed on December 13, 2021, the Local Plans Team received over 2,500 submissions from stakeholders, statutory bodies, residents, planning agents and developers.
These will be read through and analysed, which will take some time before being uploaded onto the consultation portal.
The next stage of public consultation, the Publication plan, is scheduled for mid 2022. |
Neighbourhood Plans
A Neighbourhood Plan is a way of helping local communities to influence the planning of the area in which they live and work. In South Staffordshire, neighbourhood plans can be made by parish councils.
Plans are led and written by the community, not the district council. Neighbourhood plans must be in line with the National Planning Policy Framework and the overall strategic approach and policies set out in South Staffordshire’s Local Plan.
There are four neighbourhood plans currently in progress for Bilbrook, Codsall, Kinver and Penkridge: https://www.sstaffs.gov.uk/planning/neighbourhood-plans.cfm
If you want more information about a specific neighbourhood plan, please contact the relevant parish clerk. |

Council Chamber access
When visiting the Council Chamber and surrounding rooms, you no longer need to walk around the outside of the building.
From now on, you can use the entrance door off the car park at the rear of the building (adjacent to reserved parking bays), then turn right at the bottom of the stairwell and enter the café space, walk through the foyer and into the Council Chamber.
The central stairwell is also now open along with the new lift for accessing both first and second floors.
