Digital Weight Management Programme
Take the first steps in managing your weight today.
A self-referral pathway is being introduced in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, as part of the NHS Digital Weight Management Programme. The programme is designed to help people develop healthier eating habits, be more active and lose weight. Anyone aged 18 and over, living in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, with a BMI indicating they are obese, can refer themselves to the programme.
The NHS Digital Weight Management Programme provides free, online access to a range of 12-week weight management plans to choose from. Each plan offers tailored advice and support to encourage healthy habits, along with recipes and nutrition advice, wellbeing support and tips to boost activity levels. The programme is working closely with several weight-management organisations to deliver expert advice and knowledge.
With all content available on a smartphone, tablet or computer, having access to online plans and support allows people to complete the programme in their own time. Please note, the programme can only be accessed with a smartphone or computer with internet access.

Summer reading challenge Staffordshire Libraries
The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children to keep reading during the school summer holidays – and to enjoy anything they like to read!
Children aged 4-11 are invited to set a reading goal, and collect rewards for their reading.
It’s FREE to take part, and last year 75% of children taking part improved their reading skills over the holidays.
Why should my child sign up?
- They will be better prepared to return to school in the autumn.
- The Challenge supports the move into a new year group.
- Becoming more independent in their reading boosts children’s confidence and self-esteem.
- The library provides free access to books and fun family activities all through the summer.
- Library staff are on hand to offer support and book recommendations.
In addition, we will also be offering the Mini-Challenge for pre-school aged children from our libraries. The Mini Challenge is a bite sized version of the Summer Reading Challenge for our youngest readers. Children collect stickers on a special collector card for the books they borrow and read.
