South Staffordshire Community Lottery to support local communities
South Staffordshire Community Lottery is a weekly lottery that directly supports local good causes and community initiatives.
Lotteries are a fun and effective way for causes to raise much-needed funds in these difficult times.
When you play South Staffordshire Community Lottery you know that 60% of your ticket price goes to good causes (more than DOUBLE than the National Lottery) and the money raised is going to good causes that benefit your local community.

Bulb planting success at Strawberry Lane Cemetery
Just under 30 enthusiastic volunteers joined us at Strawberry Lane Cemetery in Great Wyrley on Saturday for our annual community bulb planting event.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone that came along and made the day a great success, helping to make a positive difference to the cemetery.
The Chairman of the Council, Cllr. Dan Kinsey, and the Leader of the Council, Cllr. Kath Perry MBE, along with Cllr. Ray Perry joined us in planting a variety of bulbs and we look forward to seeing them flowering in the spring.
Volunteers were able to take away a free bag of bulbs for their own gardens and we’d also like to thank Forest of Mercia CIC who kindly donated trees for people to take home with them.
Look out for other volunteering opportunities coming up at both of our cemeteries throughout the coming year.
Successful ‘Connect Digital’ event boosts digital innovation in South Staffordshire
South Staffordshire businesses had the chance to explore digital growth at the recent Connect Digital event, organised by South Staffordshire Council in partnership with Staffordshire Growth Hub.
The event brought together local entrepreneurs, tech experts, and digital enthusiasts to discuss the latest trends in digital transformation and featured workshops, expert talks, and networking opportunities, covering topics like cyber security, digital marketing, and digital accountancy.
Local businesses gained valuable insights and connected with digital service providers to enhance their online presence and streamline operations.

Welfare Services Event Success
Richard Brett and Karen Riley from our Welfare Services team attended the Older People’s Information Fair managed by Mike Wood, Member of Parliament for Kingswinford & South Staffordshire on Friday, 29th November.
The event was very well attended, and the team supported many South Staffordshire residents with Welfare Support advice and guidance including pension credits, housing, council tax reductions, and housing benefits.
Our next stop with the Welfare Services Community Roadshow will be Coven Co-op, 10th December 2024, where Colin Heeley looks forward to supporting residents.
