Whether it’s gaining confidence, boosting your career, or finding a new hobby and meeting new people, Staffordshire Community Learning offers fully funded, FREE courses for adults aged 19+.
We have a super range of locally run community courses on offer this year, helping you to gain or improve skills in all sorts of subjects, and taking place in local learning venues right on your doorstep.
Many of our free courses can even be taken online, from the comfort of your own home.
We have courses covering basic English, Maths and Numeracy, Digital Skills and Computing, Wellness and Wellbeing, Employability, Arts and Crafts, Family Learning and so much more.
Our courses are suitable for any adult aged 19 or over, across Staffordshire.

FREE Family groups in South Staffordshire
Parenting can be tough, and that’s why Family Hub Coaches offer Free Family Learning Courses across Staffordshire.
These 10-week courses, available face-to-face or virtually, are for adults aged 19+ interested in supporting children’s development and behavior through play and communication. Courses run term-time only.
- Simply Play Babies (0–12 months) Starting Monday, 20th January Time: 12:30 PM – 2 PM Location: Landywood Family Hub
- Simply Play (0–4 years) Starting Tuesday, 21st January Time: 10 AM – 11:30 AM Location: Landywood Family Hub
- From Pram to Primary Parenting Programme Courses begin w/c 27th January Virtual

South Staffordshire Council’s leisure centres have everything you need to improve your health, fitness and general wellbeing.
The leisure centres provide facilities and activities to cater for the whole family, from children and young people to older adults – there’s something for everyone!

How healthy is your heart?
Coronary Heart Disease is the biggest killer causing a quarter of all deaths in the UK.
Here are the statistics:
- Heart disease is the single biggest killer amongst both men and women.
- There are over 7.6 million people living with heart disease in the UK and more than a million people have heart failure.
- Around 1.4 million people in the UK today have survived a heart attack.
- There are around 100,000 hospital admissions each year in the UK due to heart attacks – that’s one every five minutes.
How to reduce your risk of heart disease
There are lots of things you can do to help reduce your risk of developing heart disease. See below some tips to help you get started:
- Manage your weight. View Everyone Healths weight management programme.
- Keep active and exercise regularly (aim to do 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity every week. View NHS Live Well where you can find useful information plus exercise videos to help you get on track.
- Include exercises that will help to reduce excess weight that settles around your waist.
- Stop smoking. Everyone Health can provide the support you might need to help you quit.
- Manage your stress
