18-Month effort leads to property clearance in Kinver

This was the culmination of 18 months of work by environmental protection officers following a complaint from the occupants of the neighbouring semi-detached property in regard to mice.

The occupants refused to engage, so a notice was served to allow us to complete the work ourselves. This was done in agreement with social services and also the occupants themselves who began to engage with us again following a joint visit to the property.

Work finally began the week of January 13th with the occupants’ agreement and support, and was completed by Friday, January 17th.

The property was cleared inside of much of the old and unused contents along with a deep clean. During the week we also arranged for the drains connected to the toilet to be unblocked and for a pest treatment to be carried out.

Training courses

South Staffordshire Council’s leisure centres run a programme of training courses which generally take place during the school holidays.

The courses on offer include Pool Lifeguard, swimming teacher and aquatic helper’s courses which are available for 14+ and 16+ to attend.

New beginner swimming lessons

New swimming lessons have been launched at Penkridge Leisure Centre on Sundays for children aged 3 years+. 

The lessons are for complete beginners and take place between 12.30-3.30pm.
