Are you struggling to pay your rent?  Do you have arrears? You may be entitled to apply for our Discretionary housing payment today!

Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP) are available to help people with their housing costs when their Housing Benefit or Universal Credit payments do not cover the full cost of their rent.

Payments made are in addition to any Housing Benefit, Universal Credit entitlement.

Changes in discounts 2025

From 1st April 2025 charges will be changing to unoccupied and unfurnished properties and uninhabitable properties.

Currently, unoccupied, and unfurnished properties attract a 1-month discount of 100% and uninhabitable properties attract a maximum 12-month discount of 50%.

From 1st April 2025 both discounts will no longer be available.

Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme

 

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme enables local authorities in England to deliver inclusive, enriching activities including a hot meal over the school holidays. Eligible children can book up to four free places throughout the Easter holidays.

Activities run from Monday 14th – 25th April. Bookings open on Monday, 10th March at 4pm.

Who can attend HAF?

  • Children and young people aged 5-16 years in receipt of benefit-related free school meals.  Paid for places are also available.
  • They can attend 4 sessions throughout the Easter holiday.
  • This includes a healthy meal if the session is over 2 hours.

Easter School Holiday Activity Camps

Aspire Sports are delivering children’s school holiday activity camps over the Easter holiday.  The camps are sports-based and available to young people aged 4-14 as half-day and full-day sessions.
